If You Previously Itemized Deductions, Check Your Withholding for 2018, Says the IRS

Connecticut property tax and mortgage interest deductions have been reduced or eliminated due to changes in tax laws resulting from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.   The IRS is recommending that taxpayers who have itemized deductions (such as mortgage interest, local taxes, etc.) check their withholding for 2018 with the IRS withholding calculator since many itemized deductions have been reduced or eliminated.   This is particularly true for Connecticut taxpayers in Fairfield County who had previously deducted substantial local tax and mortgage interest deductions.  Please call Robert S.
